Scrapbook Bytes -- speed scrap with Connie Prince

My favourite designer, Connie Prince, is now hosting speed scraps at Scrapbook Bytes. For now it will be twice monthly, but who knows, it may become more frequent down the road. The SS is hosted in the Chat Room. You really need to be a speed reader to keep up, but it is soooo much fun. Here are the instructions from tonight's speed scrap and this is my layout.

Dancing at my son's wedding in October 2008 was very special for me. If I had not had both knees replaced in Feb 2008, dancing would have been out of the question. So, I decided to really kick up my heels and do a little extra dancing with Scotty, one of the ushers. My kids were astounded that I could move like that. See, I can still teach 'em somethin', even if it's dirty dancing!

I used the kit, Dance Machine, by Connie Prince.

Speed Scrap @ Gotta Pixel

The chat was so fast-paced and fun, I waited until the chat was over before starting my page. I just didn't want to miss anything. Here is my layout as per instructions.

Our Burt is a very curious cat! He can't be kept from jumping on the counters, tables or anything else that strikes his fancy. However, when I saw him in the dishwasher, I had to run for the camera! Is there no place a cat won't go?

All papers and elements are from the Gotta Pixel August 2010 Blog Train. Thanks to all the designers who participated.

New Challenge at Gotta Pixel

It's called "Show Me The Mini" and this month's host is Trixie Scraps. Now, I'm not sure if  the same designer will be hosting each month or not, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, here is my layout using the kit by Trixi Scraps.

Wedding and honeymoon photos are just perfect for this kit.

RAK Fairies Live at Gotta Pixel

I received a wonderful RAK (Random Act of Kindness) the other day from Jen Graham a.k.a. Graham Like the Cracker. It was a fantastic coupon to her store and I picked up the kit, Love That Boy. Needless to say, while looking through photos of kids and grandkids, this one of James and Kirsten just fit the theme perfectly.

Speed Scrap Last Night

I love speed scraps and last night was no exception. You can see the instructions here. I was busy chatting away and next thing I know, my internet connection was lost. That didn't stop me however. Here's my LO from last night.

My name is Gram-Gram!

Yesterday I took Jack and Ava to the park to burn off some energy (theirs, not mine!). Jack busied himself on the monkey bars and slide and Ava sifted through the sand in the playground. After gathering a handful, the little darling wanted to share with Gram-Gram. That's what she calls me and it is a lovely name. My heart just jumps for joy when I hear it.

I use Cosmodellic, a collab kit by Connie Prince and Girl Boy Girl Designs.

Thrifty - New Release by Sweet Digi Scraps

I don't think there is anything more I can say without crying, both for my daughter who loved Sidda so much, and for Sidda who was a lovely and beautiful pet.

For both of the above layouts, I used the kit, Thrifty, by Sweet Digi Scraps. The LO of me also used a template from The Three R's, also by Sweet Digi Scraps. There are several new releases today and I will be back soon with the links to the kits, word art, alpha and templates.

I'm a Creative Sweetie!

A "Creative Sweetie" is a person who has been chosen to be on the creative team for Sweet Digi Scraps, aka Liz Hutchison. Liz a fabulous designer at Gotta Pixel and when the most recent CT call was published, I decided to try out. Imagine my surprise when I was chosen to be a Guest Creative Sweetie. That means that I will have a month assigned to me (October 2010) when I will be using soon-to-be-released kits to create my layouts. I'm thrilled, to say the least. In addition to my specific month, there will be times when a new kit is available to all CT members, including the Guest Sweeties. The layout I'm going to publish here today is one of these kits. It is called "Spunk" and is available today exclusively at Gotta Pixel and the best news, it's on special for $1.00 because today is Tuesday which translates into "Dollar Pixels" at Gotta Pixel, so go grab it while it's on sale.

And now, for the main feature, my very first page at a CT member, may I present "Spunkie Kid".....

Scraplift Challenge at Gotta Pixel

A very pleasant challenge, indeed. We had to peruse the gallery of MrsPeel and scraplift something from her gallery. I chose to scraplift the page chosen for us and this is my layout.

Here is the original page completed by MrsPeel:

Gotta Pixel Font Fever Challenge

Today is the start of a new month of challenges at GP. The Font Fever challenge is one of my favourites (okay, they're all my favs, I can't help myself) and August's font is Capture It.  Here is the layout I created using the font.

My grandchildren, Jack & Ava, are very, very active and I'm old, but the other day I decided to take them to the splash pad for the day. I was terrified I'd lose one or the other when, in fact, they were so absorbed in playing in the water or the playground space, it was the easiest day ever for me. I was proud of myself for having the courage to take them somewhere by myself and proud of them for being so well-behaved. We had a great day!
